My Bio


Clarence Chavis is a writer, poet and author.  Currently he is the writer for San Francisco's Men's Issues section of the Examiner.com.  For the Examiner, Clarence tackles local and national subjects that pertain to men in general.  A focus of his is shedding light on community issues that do not get the press they deserve.  Besides writing about issues that affect the community, Clarence also loves to write about sports figures and cultural topics.

Clarence is also the author of the book titled "Verbal Abstractions."  The book Verbal Abstractions consists of poetry written over a 15-year period. More than just a book of poems, Clarence discusses the dilemma of Drama and the weapons of Love and Power at your disposal to fight Drama.

Clarence Chavis, is originally from Hayward, California. He is a graduate of the Master of City and Regional Planning program of Morgan State University and holds an Undergraduate degree in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Verbal Abstractions


The book Verbal Abstractions consists of poetry written during a 15-year period by author Nubian Sage. More than just a book of poems, Sage discusses the dilemma of Drama and the weapons of Love and Power at your disposal to fight Drama. How do you fight the problems confronting your life? Do you have the emotional support of others? Do you seek a higher power or a mentor? Through critical self-analysis, Verbal Abstractions allows you to investigate your resources available to fight and resolve problems enabling you to succeed in life.

Nubian Sage, is the pseudonym name of Clarence Chavis.
